  • Because we are a performing arts space and not a traditional movie theater, we do not consistently offer first-run cinema year round and therefore do not show a typical number of movie previews prior to the film. It is recommended that you arrive prior to the start of the performance time for the film as our previews only run about 4-5 minutes in total. For example, if the film is scheduled to begin at 7:30pm, the actual movie will begin roughly around 7:35pm.

  • For all live events and performances, we open doors 1 hour before showtime.

For all first run cinema and film events, we open doors 30 minutes prior to the start of the movie.

  • Yes. There is ample parking on the streets around SHU Community, including Post, Unquowa and Reef roads and Sanford Place, but availability varies by day. We also recommend parking in one the following parking lots: Fairfield Train Station (north or south side of the tracks), Sherman Green, Sherman Street, Bank of America, Fairfield Public Library.

  • Certain artists, either before or after the show, will entertain a meet & greet portion of the event. If this is the case, it will be posted on the event page when purchasing tickets. If the artist elects to charge for the meet & greet, there will be a separate ticket link for that portion of the event on the event page.

  • There are absolutely no refunds or exchanges for non-members. The SHU Community Theatre is a 501 (c)3 Non-Profit Organization. If you are a ticket holder unable to attend an event, The SHU Community Theatre will accept the tickets back as a tax deductible donation up until the start time of the said ticketed event. Patrons who donate tickets will receive a tax deductible receipt confirming the donation.
