c

The Sacred Heart University Community Theatre and SHU's Film, Television Media and Arts program are doubly proud to present the DOUBLE EXPOSURE series — two classic movies connected by a theme and hosted by a world-class expert from FTMA.
- Come get a taste of Connecticut’s only MFA curriculum in film and TV. It’s double the cinematic fun and double the insight at half the price you’d expect: one single ticket! This double feature presented by FTMA Artist In Residence Zeke Hawkins includes The Motorcycle Diaries and City of God, two extraordinary films from Brazil which combined were nominated for six Academy Awards (and won one).
Zeke is a filmmaker and commercial director best known for directing the feature film Bad Turn Worse - starring Jeremy Allen White, Mackenzie Davis, & Mark Pellegrino - which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival, won the Audience Award at AFI Fest, and was released theatrically by Starz. Previously, Zeke graduated from Brown University and the American Film Institute (AFI), where his thesis film Equestrian Sexual Response premiered at South by Southwest and was nominated for a Student Academy Award. Before that, Zeke worked as the director’s assistant to Bennett Miller, most notably on the Oscar winning film Capote.
In addition to his film work, Zeke has worked extensively in the advertising space - directing content for Rhone Apparel, The Lighthouse Recovery Services, and Zeiss Medical Technology - and producing commercials for Burger King, Dunkin’ Donuts, Hardee’s, Carl’s Jr., Checkers, Steak ‘n Shake, Zaxby’s, Hood, Freshpet, House Autry, Verizon, Snapple, Tide, ESPN, ALL, Smirnoff, AT&T Wireless, Ad Council, and Earthlink.
Currently, Zeke serves as the Artist-in-Residence in Sacred Heart University's Film & TV Master's Program (FTMA), where he teaches directing and oversees the cinematography program. Zeke is thrilled to be hosting Double Exposure Events at the SHU Community Theatre.
