Shot in a “semi-documentary” style that has been copied repeatedly since, A Hard Day’s Night captures about 36 hectic hours in the life ofJohn, Paul, George and Ringo. An inexpensive “quickie” comedy intended to cash in on what was expected to be the Beatles’ short-lived fame, A Hard Day’s Night was released just three months after filming, was an international smash hit and turned out to be an instant classic. This screening will be accompanied by a live sing-along tribute performance of some of the Fab Four’s greatest hits.
